Recent Grants

Since 1996, the Rutherford County Endowment, in partnership with The Community Foundation, has awarded 198 grants totaling $1,458,353.

Spring 2019

Basics Christian Ministries - $5,000 for renovations and improvements to its building.

Carolina Cross Connection - $5,300 for building supplies to help low-income households with necessary repairs or improvements.

Community Pet Center - $4,560 to provide free pet food to low-income families.

Forest City Housing Authority - $6,000 for a domestic violence education and support program.

Pisgah Legal Services - $8,500 for legal aid programs that benefit children.

Rutherford Housing Partnership - $10,000 for a week-long day camp to introduce construction skills and trades to 4th – 6th grade girls.

Rutherford County - $8,000 to support the Farmers Market.

Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity - $10,000 for renovations to its office building.

Rutherford County Library - $4,000 for a nutrition and gardening program.

Rutherford County Senior Center - $10,000 to provide meals to seniors.

Yokefellow Service Center - $10,000 for crisis assistance to low-income people.

Spring 2018

Isothermal Community College - $6,500 to support implementation of best practices in recruiting and serving its students.

KidSenses Children's INTERACTIVE Museum - $8,000 to support Fantastic Fridays 2018, a program that offers free admission and STEM educational programs on the first Friday of each month.

NC MedAssist - $8,000 to purchase lifesaving prescription medications for uninsured individuals in Rutherford County. 

Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity - $10,000 to complete home repairs for veterans.

Rutherford County Schools Education Foundation - $5,000 to purchase backpacks that will supply 95 food-insecure Forest City-Dunbar students for six weeks during the summer months.

Rutherford County Senior Center - $9,000 to supplement its home-delivered meals program.

Rutherford Housing Partnership - $8,500 to buy three portable ramp systems.

Yokefellow Service Center, Inc. - $10,000 to provide heating assistance to low-income residents.

Youth Empowerment of Rutherford County - $10,000 to help purchase a used van.
