The Women’s Fund

The Women’s Fund is a permanent endowment created to support the unmet needs of women and girls in our mountains. A tax-deductible gift - of any amount - provides support to effective programs that are addressing some of the most pressing issues facing women in Western North Carolina, including domestic violence, homelessness, health care and more.

So far, more than $189,000 has been raised for the fund through The Power of the Purse Luncheon and from gifts from people who want to build a lasting resource that will assist women and girls in the region.

Women’s Conversations

For women who want to create their own personal philanthropic plan, we offer Women’s Conversations, an opportunity to work with Community Foundation staff to clarify and expand your personal giving goals. Developed by women, for women, the series features important financial information taught by women attorneys and insurance and financial service professionals from our area. Workshop topics include estate plans, investment portfolios, insurance plans, 529 college savings plans, uniform gifts to minors, charitable planning and more.
