CFWNC Ranks in Top 100 Community Foundations

Community foundations make up one of the fastest growing sectors of philanthropy in the United States today, and The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina continues to rank among the top 100 of 641 community foundations surveyed nationwide. The annual survey, conducted by The Columbus Foundation, ranks community foundations by 2006 figures.

The survey of U.S. community foundations reports continued growth in gifts, grants and assets. The survey of 641 community foundations reported a total of $5.6 billion in gifts received from donors, $3.2 billion in grants made to nonprofit organizations, and growth in market value of assets to $44.8 billion.
