How to Apply for a Strategy Grant1. Access Community Foundation Staff AssistanceThe staff of The Community Foundation is available and eager to assist you as you develop your proposal. We provide workshops for grant applicants to learn about the Foundation's grantmaking priorities and ask questions. Workshop dates are listed on this website. Registration is required. Program Officers Tim Richards and Beth Maczka are also available via phone or email to provide personalized assistance to organizations. 2. Submit a Strategy Grant Letter of Intent You may request a Letter of Intent form be mailed to you or you may access it from the following links: Strategy Grant Letter of Intent Questions CFWNC Grant Application Cover Page (required by all applicants) CFWNC Grant Application Instructions (review to ensure you have submitted all required attachments for your grant application.) Grantseekers must submit a completed Letter of Intent to the Foundation office by 5 p.m. on the date of the deadline. Refer to "CFWNC Grant Application Instructions" for details on submitting a complete application. Letters of Intent may also be mailed to the Foundation's post office box but must be received in the Foundation office by 5 p.m. on the deadline. Faxed and/or emailed Letters of Intent are not accepted as official submissions. Your organization will receive notification of the receipt of your proposal within two weeks following the application deadline. If you do not receive a notification, please contact Tim Richards at the Foundation. Letters of Intent are reviewed with regards to the Foundation's priorities, the availability of funds for the stated purposes, the applicants' capabilities, and the potential benefits to the community. In late November, applicants will be notified whether or not they are invited to submit a full application. Application forms and instructions will be provided to invited applicants at that time. 3. Submit a Full Application for a Strategy Grant Selected organizations will then submit their full application in mid-January. Site visits by staff and board members are common during this review period. Grant proposals are evaluated by a review committee, approved by the CFWNC Board, and funding decisions are announced in May. |
