  • Asheville Middle School - $2,000 to send members of Asheville Middle School's basketball team to a three-day basketball camp at Gardner Webb University.

  • Bountiful Cities Project - $2,000 to provide hands-on instruction to children in Shiloh that will teach them how to grow food using games and activities.

  • Cherokee County Schools - $2,000 to offer daily activities, including arts, cooking, reading and a field trip to Asheville for low-income children in the Texana community.

  • Children First of Buncombe County - $2,000 to extend the current after-school program through the summer, providing enrichment and educational field trips to 24 children.

  • Clay County Health Department - $2,000 towards improving healthy eating habits for children and their family by teaching them how to prepare and eat meals together.

  • Cleveland County Family YMCA - $2,000 to send children to a summer day camp at the Rutherford County YMCA.

  • F.I.R.S.T. - $2,000 to offer children with moderate to severe disabilities an overnight camp experience that includes crafts, singing, puppet & magician shows, swimming, horseback riding and scavenger hunts.

  • First Stage Youth Theatre - $2,000 to provide scholarships to Madison County children so they may receive professional instruction in the theatre arts.

  • Foothills Equestrian Nature Center, Inc. - $2,000 to provide scholarships to Polk County children to attend one week of day camp with activities geared toward nature education, science and the environment.

  • Friends Across North Carolina - $2,000 to offer a five-day outdoor camping experience to school-age children and youth from Yancey, Mitchell, McDowell and Madison counties who have mental or physical disabilities.

  • Girl Scouts of the Pioneer Council, Inc. - $2,000 to provide financial assistance to 100 Rutherford and Polk county girls to attend Camp Golden Valley , giving them the chance to experience independence, risk-taking in a safe environment, and an opportunity to work as a team.

  • Graham County Schools , Kids Castle After School Program - $2,000 to enroll 60 children in a summer of science exploration, giving them a safe place to spend the day while parents are at work.

  • Health Adventure - $1,993 to offset museum admission costs for English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) children and their families and provide them guided time with an educator and free-time for exploration.

  • Isaac Dickson Elementary School - $2,000 to run a summer garden camp for low-income Buncombe County children who are at risk educationally and nutritionally, giving them supervised outdoor play and exercise.  

  • North Carolina Cooperative Extension - Avery County - $2,000 to provide scholarships to low-income Latino youth to attend one week of summer camp.

  • Pigeon Community Development Center - $2,000 to pay staff to provide learning and experiental activities, including field trips and life skills to Haywood County children.

  • Power Partners, Inc. - $2,000 to offer Cherokee County children the chance to attend an "Around the World" themed camp to learn about other cultures.

  • Presbyterian Home For Children - $2,000 to provide children in residence a five-week daily program that incorporates education and entertainment keeping youth active and learning during the summer.

  • Rutherford Hospital Foundation - $2,000 to give 50 children with asthma a structured, fun, and safe experience at South Mountain Camp, teaching them how to enjoy the outdoors while managing their disease.

  • Stecoah Valley Arts, Crafts and Educational Center - $2,000 to provide cultural enrichment and recreational activities for Graham County youth in a day camp setting.

  • Volunteer NC, Inc. - $300 to help fund positions reserved for teenagers with different types of disabilities to participate in a program that teaches youth job skills and promotes volunteerism.

  • W.A.M.Y Community Action - $2,000 to offer safe, educational and fun activities to low-income Latino youth in Avery County.

  • Yancey County Schools - $2,000 to give Hispanic youth an opportunity to develop team-building and leadership skills in an outdoor setting.

  • YWCA of Asheville - $2,000 to support summer staffing needed to provide activities for 50 at-risk teens, including weekly community service projects that emphasize environmental stewardship.
