WNC Partners for Nonprofit Success

The Community Foundation is pleased to be part of a new collaborative effort to strengthen the capacity of nonprofits in the 18 counties we serve. The Community Foundation has partnered with the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, Mission Healthcare Foundation, The United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County and the University of North Carolina at Asheville to offer enhanced training and services that lead to best practices for nonprofits.

The collaborative, called Western North Carolina Partners for Nonprofit Success, is also hosting the Duke Certificate Program in Nonprofit Management. Our goal is an even more vibrant and healthy nonprofit sector to serve our mountain counties.

Endowment Management

The Community Foundation manages more than 100 endowments established to support nonprofit organizations across Western North Carolina. The Foundation offers consistent stewardship, professional investment management, and effective administration, all at a reasonable cost. Benefits of pooled fund management include more favorable investment returns and modest fees. The Foundation also publicizes endowment funds and can assist organizations in receiving sophisticated and planned gifts. To learn more about establishing a nonprofit endowment fund, contact Sheryl Aikman, Vice President of Development.
