Hispanics in Philanthropy Grants

Grants are available for WNC Latino-led nonprofits from The North Carolina Funders’ Collaborative for Strong Latino Communities. This initiative of the national organization “Hispanics in Philanthropy” is designed to strengthen the organizational and leadership capacity of Latino nonprofits in the US and Latin America, to increase understanding of Latino non-profits and the communities they serve and to foster philanthropic investment in Latino organizations and communities.

Previous grants have consisted of either one-year planning grants, mainly to emerging Latino groups for strategic, board, and fundraising planning, or multi-year grants for up to three years to put into effect projects to build Latino groups' internal operations and capacity. All grants focus on building the capacity of Latino-led nonprofit organizations. Some examples include: organizational strategic planning; staff and board development, building the organization’s ability to participate in effective partnerships, coalitions and alliances with others to increase program operation and effectiveness; diversification and increase in the organization’s financial base of support to ensure sustainability and effectiveness, etc. Applicants must also be Latino-led and specifically serve Latinos.
