I am a simple country boy who lives on a small sheep farm with my dad and my sister in a small rural area called Sunshine in Bostic, NC. When I was five years old, my family borrowed my first lamb to raise and show. I have been raising and showing lambs for the past twelve years. Farming consists of long days of sweat, hard work and early mornings but if it were not for the lambs, I would not be the man I am today. Raising lambs has taught me responsibility, dependability and management. I decided when I was eight years old that I wanted to be a large animal veterinarian. My dad told me to write on a piece of paper, “I want to go to NC State and be a large animal vet” and hang it on the refrigerator. That piece of paper helped keep me focused on my goals for 10 years and now I am attending NC State.
