Scholarship Stories

The Community Foundation administers approximately 60 scholarship funds, about 40 of which run in the spring cycle of programs offered to high school seniors each year. Most of our scholarship endowment funds have broad eligibility criteria, allowing students in Western North Carolina who wish to attain a higher education to attend the U.S. schools of their choice. Other programs have a more specific focus, serving a particular school or county, offered to students pursuing a degree in a stated field, or available to those that will attend a designated college or university. Last year the Foundation awarded $346,500 to 175 students.
