"Often people will go into a profession and choose a goal that they know they can achieve. I’m different in the fact that I often set goals that I know may be difficult for me to reach but that I know will make me work hard. This was no different when I was deciding my future career goals and how I was going to attain [them]. I would like to begin my career by earning a bachelor’s degree in athletic training…work for a year or two to gain some experience…return to school to receive a master’s degree in athletic training. I’ve been an athlete all my life and I know what it’s like to struggle through injury. If I could speed up the process of an athlete recovering and returning to his/her sport, it would be rewarding to both the athlete and myself. Thank you again for this opportunity. I promise to make The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina proud!”
