The Foundation has long been committed to strengthening Western North Carolina’s nonprofits. In 2006, The Community Foundation partnered with the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, Mission Hospitals and The United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County to form WNC Nonprofit Pathways. WNC Nonprofit Pathways exists to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations.

We are fortunate to have a strong and vibrant nonprofit community. Supporting these organizations and providing them with the resources they need to fulfill their missions is one of the important ways the Foundation works in our region.

Pathways offers enhanced training, consultancies and services that help nonprofits adapt and succeed. The collaborative also hosts the Duke Certificate Program in Nonprofit Management.

The Pathways collaboration is built upon the belief that strong organizations make strong communities.
