|A $4,676 grant to the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity is helping to build a Sweet Home Swannanoa home for a low-income family.
The Black Mountain - Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund seeks to inspire philanthropy and strengthen charitable organizations serving the Swannanoa Valley. The fund was established in 1999 by caring individuals who recognized the importance of a permanent charitable capital resource to support changing needs and opportunities.
Contributions made to the Black Mountain - Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund are pooled and invested by The Community Foundation. Proceeds from the investments are used to make grants while the original gifts remain intact, continuing to grow for the benefit of future generations.
Nonprofit organizations and public institutions may apply to the Black Mountain - Swannanoa Valley Endowment Fund for support. The Fund also makes grants relating to health and wellness, education, cultural and natural resources and people in need.
