Resources For Women
Throughout history, women have built stronger communities through volunteerism, leadership and gifts of their time, talent and resources. The Community Foundation is pleased to offer an array of services for women who choose to give back. You can choose to support The Women's Fund, join the Women for Women giving circle or create your own philanthropic plan. Community Foundation staff is happy to work with you to clarify and expand your personal giving goals. Contact us to set up an appointment.
The Women's Fund
The Women's Fund is a permanent endowment created to support the unmet needs of women and girls in our mountains. A tax-deductible gift - of any amount - provides support to effective programs that are addressing some of the most pressing issues facing women in Western North Carolina, including domestic violence, homelessness, health care and more. Proceeds from this Fund are distributed through the Women for Women grant program.

The Power of the Purse Luncheon
The 8th annual Power of the Purse luncheon will take place May 21, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville. Writer, lecturer, editor and feminist activist Gloria Steinem will give the keynote address. The event celebrates the power of women’s philanthropy in Western North Carolina. Registration for Power of the Purse will begin in early 2012. Advance registration is required. Proceeds benefit The Women’s Fund, a CFWNC permanent endowment that supports the unmet needs of women and girls across the region. The event includes the announcement of grants to nonprofits addressing the needs of women and girls in Western North Carolina made by the Women for Women giving circle.
Women for Women is a special initiative of The Foundation, which provides administrative support. Women for Women is a giving circle that makes high-impact grants to improve the lives of women and girls in our region. New members are always welcome and each member chooses her own level of involvement. Learn more about membership and the Women for Women grant program.
