Overview

The Learning Links program offers grants up to $800 to public schools in order to provide "hands-on" creative learning projects to their students. The goal of this program is to increase students' enthusiasm for learning and staying in school, ultimately through graduation.

The mission of Women for Women (WFW) is to improve the lives of women and girls in Western North Carolina through women’s collective giving. Our vision is that Women for Women inspires hope and possibility, empowers women to take action and strengthens Western North Carolina. WFW works to create opportunities for women and girls of Western North Carolina through grantmaking, advocacy and advancing women’s philanthropy. Since 2006, WFW has invested more than $3.4 million in high impact grants in WNC.

The mission of the Melvin R. Lane Fund is to increase the capacity of organizations that provide supportive services for people in need, youth, the elderly and mentally and/or physically disabled people. Capacity building addresses a nonprofit’s ability to achieve its mission effectively now and in the future through projects designed to improve communications, volunteer recruitment, development, outcomes, collaborations, and technology.
